Detainees Watched With Their Hands Pressed Up to the Outdoor Windows of Their Cells

On Friday night, hundreds of people gathered outside the barb wired gates of the Eloy Detention Center, in Eloy, AZ. With one unified voice, they told the refugees detained behind the fortified concrete walls, “Te quieremos, no están solos!” Dozens of ICE and cop cars shone their headlights across the massive group of dancing and chanting activists, musicians and families. Detainees watched with their hands pressed up to the outdoor windows of their cells. 

En la noche del viernes, cientos de personas se reunieron afuera del alambre de púas y la entrada del centro de detención Eloy en Eloy, Arizona. Con una voz, le dijeron a los refugiados detenidos detrás de las paredes de concreto reforzado, “Te queremos, no están solos!” Docenas de agentes de ICE y patrullas de policías con sus faros, le echaban luz al grupo masivo de activistas, músicos y familias bailando y cantando. Los detenidos miraban con sus manos presionadas contra las ventanas de sus celdas.
